Snow cover in the United States is plentiful from the Rocky Mountains to Maine. One thing is lacking. Essentially, NOTHING on the coastal areas from BWI to Boston. Everything has stayed to the interior mainly because of storm tracks. And there are NO SIGNS in the next two weeks of anything except rain. We are two inches below normal at this point as winter begins. Boston is 5 inches under. So, if you want to feel better look at that side of the coin.
Now, in 2013-2014 we had NOTHING white on the ground into the middle of January. Then, as you would expect, all heck broke loose. That’s what this winter is looking like. A slow start, it has been cold; however we still have plenty of time.
Like I’ve said, the new normal might just be less snow, milder temperatures, and average to below average snowfall. It’s just the reality of the new climate change.
See ya Thursday!
