Radar looks spectacular! Looks like we’re getting a blizzard. Instead, what you see are enhanced flakes coming from the W/NW from the Great Lakes. If you want lots of snow, drive about 8 hours W/NW towards upstate PA and upstate NY near Buffalo. Then you will see real enhanced lake effect snow. Almost a foot in Buffalo today!
Sunday still seems to have a better than 50% chance of seeing sustained flurries which won’t amount to much as we have a bunch of short wave energy flying all over the place. It is cold, so that helps as well. I’m more interested in a clipper coming down from Canada Tues-Wed time frame. If it takes a sharper dip in the jet stream, we could see something a little more substantial. I wouldn’t be talking 6+, but in the 1-3 range. Yet, this is from a weather teacher I have, he said, “Where it wants to snow..It will. Where it doesn’t want to..It won’t.” Essentially, if we haven’t seen it steady so far, do you REALLY expect it to happen?
February is up in the air folks. It will be cold, but how cold and for how long? Yet, there are VERY strong signals that around the 5th or 6th of next week a significant event could take place. It’s back an forth. Appreciate what we have right now. On a side note this January was almost 6 degrees ABOVE NORMAL in temperatures. That’s just totally insane..What is going on?
