GRAPHIC OF THE DAY: NO COLD AIR, MASSIVE RIDGE(WARM AIR)=NO STORM

Storm.jpg

Honestly, this is the story of our winter. Lack of cold air, plus a split flow where the Northern and Southern streams never tend to meet or get together just screaming that we aren’t getting a snowstorm of any kind this Sunday.  This is such a reversal from last night I can’t begin to tell you how stunned I was when I observed this upper air pattern. And look how far this ridge pushes up. Our storm is actually that warm circle in the middle. So, it forms in the plains, pushes our way but what does it run into? No cold air. And it turns into a cold front passing rain short wave. It gives us a passing shower as we’re watching the Super Bowl.

It’s Tuesday, but I’m ready to DECLARE THIS POTENTIAL STORM…DOA (DEAD ON ARRIVAL)  And, if this is the pattern starting to formulate where we revert back to what we had at the start of the winter (Warm in the east and cold in the west) the winter is on life support.
